well, this is a first for my blog: i’m sharing a recipe for a drink with you. i rarely make mixed drinks (read: never make mixed drinks). but on a hot summer evening, i was reading smitten kitchen’s post for blackberry gin fizz. suddenly, i realized that i had everything on hand to make a blueberry version of the beverage.

i have to apologize to you: it’s taken me over two months to post this recipe, although it’s one of the best dips i’ve ever tried. a friend made this for a bbq waaaaay back in may, and i promptly asked her for the recipe (after eating a ridiculous amount of it, of course).

summer is in full swing up here in seattle, chock full of birthday celebrations, fun weekend get-aways with friends, and yes, the inevitable job hunt. summer in seattle is pretty gorgeous, with temperatures into the 70s, clear views of the mountain ranges surrounding the city, sunlight until well after 9pm, and warm nights that are very different from the chilly, fog-laden evenings in santa cruz (although as i write this, it’s raining outside…go figure).
