what do you do when someone you love is having a birthday, but can’t eat much sugar? find a dessert that’s low on the glycemic index!
i love cooking and baking, and most of the time this hobby completely enthralls me. i love the routine mike and i have created of working, going to the gym, then coming home and preparing a delicious dinner together. i love taking photos as we prepare the meal, and thinking about how i’ll present the recipe to all of you.
happy st patrick’s day, everyone! to celebrate mike’s and my irish heritage, we decided to make two easy dishes with traditional irish staples: oven roasted potatoes and coleslaw.
i feel like i start most posts by professing my love for some type of food, and i’d like to start this one differently….actually, no, i don’t think i can begin without speaking of my love for minestrone soup. it’s one of the first soups i can recall eating, and it brings back memories of cozy rainy winter afternoons, steaming soup bowls, and crunchy sourdough toast that i ate alongside and dipped into the broth.
i love all things with fruit and butter and sugar – crisps, tarts, pies, cobbler – you name it, and i’ll bet that i love it!
